Shonte`

Award-winning singer, song writer, producer Shonte'- has been dubbed "The Woman with the Voice of an Angel." A distinction that has been bestowed upon the Oakland, CA native with good reason. Shonte' began her singing career at the tender age of 2 years old, blending her angelic voice with a 50-member angel choir at the" House of God C.O.G.I.C." (Oakland CA) ,and became the youngest soloist in the choir's prestigious performance history. Her gift of song has since been requested for Holy Convocations, State meetings and District- wide events. In 1999- under the direction of the Holy Spirit, Shonte' embraced her professional calling for the Ministry of Music with jazz-infused vocal stylings that pay homage to musical inspirations: The Clark Sisters, Kim Burrell, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaugahn.

 

Shonte' has clearly paid her dues by performing as a background vocalist for: Kierra "Kiki" Sheard ("BET- Sunday's Best"), Tachina Danielle, Derick Hall, Morris LeGrande, Lawrence K. Matthews (Stellar Award Winner), Tony Sanders & The Anointed Voices, and BET Super Bowl 50 Gospel Concert (w/Pastor Charles Jenkins). As the C.E.O. of Angel Voice Records (Oakland, CA), she is tasked with keeping the offering of her music both fresh and innovative; yet, she finds time to lend her talent fellow recording artists who respect and promote her dedication to her craft (Nona Brown's "Inspirational Music Collective' and Lily of the Valley's Voices of Excellence Choir.

As the recipient of the highly coveted Governor's Medallion Award (2x's), she has been named the 2018 " Black Gospel Music Awards" Rising Star, and is proving the sky is the limit to what she can have. Through additional displays of prominent productions that include: Casey & Erica (Recording Duo), "The King and I", 'Grease" and 'Jesus Christ Superstar"; yet, she remains humble enough to step away from the limelight to give back to her community. As the founder of "I Keep God First Ministries", Shonte' uses her deeply rooted faith in God to help youth navigate the challenges of adolescences (through the application of biblical principles). As an artist who lives to share the love of God through music, Shonte' is gearing up for the re-release of her debut CD project ('Love Chronicles"), followed by an array of musical  installments that are sure to inspire us all.
